The City lists eligible work under the expanded program including home plumbing assessment, backwater valves and alarms, sump pumps and alarms, sump pump battery backup power, and foundation drain or weeping tile severance and capping.

The City says contractors and subcontractors must have valid City of Toronto business licences at the time of installation or service. For backwater valve installations, the City says a building permit is required and the valve must be inspected before it is enclosed or covered. Submitting an application does not guarantee a subsidy.
